Explore with example data

What this does

Section titled “What this does”

Adds one clearly labelled example customer, [Example] Northwind Café, with an estimate, a work order, a paid invoice and an expense, so you can click around and see how AysOps works before entering your real business. You can remove it all in one go later.

Before you start

  • Only owners and admins see this.
  • It’s offered on the dashboard of a new account that has no customers yet.

Steps

Load the example

Section titled “Load the example”
  1. On the dashboard, click Load example data to explore.
  2. A popup (Load example data?) explains what will be added. Click Load example data, or Not now to skip.

Remove it when you’re done

  1. On the dashboard, click Remove example data.
  2. The popup (Remove the example data?) lists exactly what will be removed: the example customer and everything attached to it, with counts (work orders, invoices, estimates, expenses, files).
  3. Click Yes, remove it all.

What happens next

Section titled “What happens next”
  • After loading, the example customer and its documents appear like any other.
  • ⚠️ Removing deletes everything attached to the example customer, including anything you created under it while exploring. Keep your real work under your real customers.

If something goes wrong

Section titled “If something goes wrong”
  • I don’t see the button: it’s only offered while the account has no customers (or while the example is loaded), and only to owners and admins.
