"Priced in another currency": an item won't go on a document

Every estimate, work order and invoice is in one currency (CAD or USD), and every line on it must be in that same currency. A rate, product or template priced in CAD can’t go on a USD document, and the other way round.

You might see:

  • A note under the Fill from product, Fill from recurring or Rate list in Add line item, or under the deposit list, such as “3 CAD products hidden, this document bills in USD”. Items in the other currency aren’t in the list at all, so they can’t be picked.
  • The same kind of note under the discount list: “1 USD discount hidden”.
  • “…is priced in CAD and this document is in USD…” if an item in the other currency is added some other way.
  • “…is a fixed amount in CAD, and this document is in USD…” for a fixed-amount discount, or “That deposit preset is in CAD but this document is in USD…” for a deposit. A percentage discount or a custom deposit amount works in any currency.
  • “Your templates are priced in another currency, so none can be used on a USD estimate.” when starting from a template.
  • Add a version of the item in the other currency (Settings → Pricing), then add that one.
  • Or create the document in the right currency. The currency is chosen when you create it. See Create an estimate.
  • For templates: create one in that currency under Estimate Templates.
