My customer can't pay online

Section titled “There’s no pay link in the invoice email”

A pay link is only included when all of these are true:

  • the AysOps Payments With Stripe add-on is on,
  • your Stripe account is connected and able to take payments (Settings → More → Integrations → Online Payments shows Connected: ready to accept payments),
  • the invoice is for more than $0.00 and has been sent, and
  • online payment hasn’t been switched off for that invoice.

See Let customers pay invoices online and Set up AysOps Payments.

Your customer sees Why, and what to do
“Invoice not found” The link is wrong or no longer works. Send the invoice again.
“This invoice isn’t open for payment” The invoice hasn’t been sent yet, or it was voided. Send it, or check its status.
“Nothing to pay” There’s no balance owing on the invoice.
“Online payment isn’t available” Online payment was switched off when the invoice was sent. Send it again with online payment on, or record the payment yourself.
“This business isn’t set up to accept online payments yet.” (after pressing Pay) Your Stripe account isn’t connected or can’t take payments yet. Finish setup in Online Payments.
“This business isn’t accepting online payments right now.” (after pressing Pay) The AysOps Payments With Stripe add-on is off.

The payment page opens but the card is declined

Section titled “The payment page opens but the card is declined”

That’s between the customer and their bank; AysOps can’t see why. They can try another card, or pay you another way and you record the payment yourself.

If the saved card declines, the customer is sent the ordinary pay link instead. See Autopay for recurring charges.

A Buy button says “This item isn’t available”

Section titled “A Buy button says “This item isn’t available””

Stripe isn’t connected, AysOps Payments is off, or Sell this online is unticked on the item. See Sell online.
